Lead Web Designer

W&R Studios is looking for a Lead Web Designer to take it’s suite of web applications to the next level. This position will take the lead in creating a common design language for the company across applications, marketing, and corporate communications – everything the public sees. Our employees take pride in creating hand-crafted software for the real estate industry. We want a like-minded web designer to come lead and improve our level of design, UI, and UX.

Responsibilities

Our web design lead will be responsible for creating a common look and feel for all of our web and mobile applications, marketing pages, and emails. They will work with developers to implement UI and UX for new app features. They will work with marketing to design and implement marketing landing pages for apps and events. They will re-think and re-design our corporate web site and blog. They will create a new style guide which will be used by the entire company as the reference for all new UI in the apps and marketing materials. They will be creative and solve design problems on a daily basis. The long term goal is creating a consistent design language that is instantly recognizable as part of our brand within our industry.

Requirements

Passion for the craft of making web software work beautifully, and a mastery of:

• UI/UX of web-based Saas software
• Creation of style guides
• Responsive, retina-capable web design
• Bootstrap framework
• Compliant HTML5/CSS
• WordPress or similar CMS and blogging platform

We use Ruby on Rails, Git version control, test-driven development, and continuous deployment. Any exposure to those, or a desire to learn more about them, is a plus.

Experience

Relevant web design experience software apps field for several years. Experience not just making things look beautiful, but making them work well. Candidates should be confident that they can take on all the responsibilities that the Lead Web Designer role entails.

Work Status

Full time with full benefits. In office preferred. Remote workers will be considered if they are exceptional and are able to visit the office on a regular schedule.
