Database Developer

FMLS is looking for a Database Developer. This is a full time position with benefits.

Below is a description of the job.

The DBD is responsible for developing and maintaining all FMLS external and internal databases, reports, and automated emails/notifications. Acts as primary contact in troubleshooting issues associated with data distribution, reporting, and automated emails.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Assist in identifying and defining data enhancement projects, reports, etc.
2. Serve as primary database designer and developer on all external and internal development projects, which includes database design, creating functions or stored procedures, views, SSIS packages, etc.
3. Perform daily database server system checks as needed to assist with preventive maintenance activities. (Review system logs, event viewers, job histories, etc)
4. Identify, specify, develop, and deploy any data mining/report-based tools and projects for internal or external customers.
5. Monitor database performance and determine the most effective way to increase/optimize performance including hardware upgrades, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
6. Research and correct any data inaccuracy issues identified by FMLS staff, members or vendors.
7. Assist with upgrades or changes to database and server configuration as needed.
8. Develop and monitor all replication jobs to push data to other database servers and/or to keep data across servers in sync.
9. Manage the security of the databases, stored procedures, etc.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Troubleshoot SQL Server outages as they occur, including after hours and weekends.

• Configure new SQL Servers and make recommendations to improve existing SQL Servers

• Provide Tier 2 support for FMLS staff in use of any FMLS database-driven applications

• Proactively identify and automate monitoring of all functions related to the databases and database servers

• Recommend purchase or upgrades of software and hardware as needed to keep FMLS database applications up to date technologically

• Performs other duties as assigned

Starting Salary is $115,000 annually
