Role Overview: As an API Architect at Broker Public Portal, you will be leading the creation, deployment, and maintenance of our RESTful APIs based on OData within a serverless cloud architecture. In this critical role, you will be expected to utilize AI tools and techniques to automate coding tasks, improve code quality, and accelerate the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect robust, scalable, and secure API solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements with high-performance RESTful APIs using the OData protocol.
  • Design API layers that facilitate seamless integration and interaction between our services and clients' systems.
  • Work with the product management and development teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead the development of API prototypes and oversee the full lifecycle of API development, from design to deployment.
  • Ensure optimal performance of API services through rigorous testing, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Implement serverless cloud architecture solutions to ensure the scalability and reliability of API services within either AWS, Azure, or GCP ecosystems.
  • Integrate CI/CD pipelines to facilitate efficient development and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and security teams to craft a robust, secure, and sustainable API ecosystem that adheres to industry-leading security practices and compliance standards.
  • Drive innovation by keeping up with the latest trends and advancements in API development.
  • Develop API documentation and assist in the creation of developer resources and tools to facilitate easy API consumption.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in API development with a proven track record of successful implementation strategy of API design and serverless architectures
  • Proficient with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development methodologies and tools to automate and create a high-performance deployment pipeline.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficient programming languages and frameworks relevant to API construction such as Python, Java, Node.js, or .NET.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing current tools and techniques to enhance the development process.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and inspire development teams.
  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
  • Strong experience in Agile methodology and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
