Chief Technology Officer, Stellar MLS - Orlando FL

Stellar MLS, the third largest MLS in the country with over 64,500 subscribers, is looking to hire an exceptional strategic visionary as its Chief Technology Officer. They invest in people and technology to give real estate brokers and agents the access they deserve to perfect, standardized data. They help brokers thrive in a competitive market.

This leader is responsible for helping to create and implement the strategic vision as part of the executive leadership team. This position interacts with all departments in the company including the employees, stakeholders, customers and the Board, while providing leadership for the Information Technology, Development, Data Services and Data Analyst teams and create the technical vision for new product offerings, facilitate focus groups, generate product requirements, and production plans.

The ideal candidate for this position is a leader who has previous experience in an MLS or Association. Someone that is driven to achieve results, engages and inspires others, collaborates across the organization, has the ability to drive innovation and use ideas to improve business results while being customer focused.

The successful candidate will be someone who is familiar with the industry and understands the nuances of MLS and Associations. Additionally, while they do not need to be a data scientist, it is important that they are data focused and use data to make decisions. This person needs to be familiar with Data Services such as IDX, licensing and third-party integration. Someone who is hands-on and willing to dig-in, roll-up their sleeves and seeks to understand. The ideal person is someone who is engaged but doesn’t micro-manage.

Specific Roles and responsibilities

1. Provides day-to-day leadership, vision, and management direction to the Information Technology and other departments.

2. Assist with the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.

3. Develops and directs the company’s overall IT strategy and provides supervision and direction to direct reports.

4. Determines and sets the company’s technology standards and practices including oversight of all system design and changes in system architecture.

5. Manages the Information Technology blueprint and budget including P&L responsibility.

6. Develops the strategy and direction of the Disaster Recovery and Data Backups regarding Technology. Manages enterprise-wide security policies and systems.

7. Develops the strategy and direction of Product Development and Implementations.

8. Leads Operational and Project Scrums and Project Sprints.

9. Participates in Real Estate (MLS) Industry Organizations, Research, and Best Practices.

10. Coordinates and selects vendors, contractors, and project portfolio management.

11. Manages and optimizes infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets.

12. Recommends and explains technology solutions to senior management, board members, the broker community and the executive team through presentations and advocacy.
