Role Overview:

The Director of Engineering at Broker Public Portal will be responsible for overseeing all development operations, managing the development work, and leading the engineering team. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to technology, a proven track record of managing development teams, and a passion for the real estate industry. You'll collaborate closely with our product team to translate our strategic plan into actionable development initiatives. Together, you'll ensure that our products not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our users and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the engineering team, overseeing all development projects and fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute technical strategies and roadmaps in alignment with the company’s goals and market demands.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.
• Drive technological excellence with a comprehensive understanding of the platform's architecture and technologies, focusing on a high-performance deployment pipeline.
• Collaborate with Product Management to ensure the engineering team has clear priorities and the resources needed to deliver products on time and on budget.
• Enhance and optimize our use of geospatial datasets and API services to support the business's strategic objectives.
• Implement and maintain best practices in software development and management, ensuring the team's growth in development and performance.
• Utilize the latest tools and techniques to automate coding tasks, improve code quality, and accelerate the development lifecycle.
• Stay current of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating, and integrating them into the operations as appropriate to accomplish business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams in supporting highly scalable platforms, with at least eight years of engineering experience and three+ years in a senior leadership role.
• At least five years of experience working with property data and managing development teams.
• Strong knowledge of real estate data, data pipelines, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies with a mindset focused on delivering customer value.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of developers, fostering an environment of growth and innovation.
• Deep understanding and proficiency with serverless architecture ( AWS, Azure, GCP) and attention to detail in code management.
• Experience implementing and managing RDS, Elasticsearch, Python, No-SQL, and geospatial datasets, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
