The Senior Accountant is an organized and motivated team player with strong initiative and communication skills, a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).
The Senior Accountant conducts financial activities, including month closes, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, variance analyses, financial statements preparation, and other special projects.

Essential Job Functions |
Perform monthly financial close activities including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyze income statement account for proper gl coding and make necessary adjusting journal entries.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations ensuring transactions are reported accurately.
Code and input Accounts Payable.
Perform timely AP check runs and vendor payments.
Complete bank reconciliations and record unposted transactions.
Resolve accounting discrepancies to prevent control deficiencies in internal controls.
Identify, recommend, and initiate process improvements and enhancements.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Perform ad-hoc reporting as requested by the controller.
Reconcile the store register sales and credit card payments.
Maintain company corporate credit card program including recording transactions to the gl and recording employee reimbursements.
Skilled in the use of a personal computer and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) and Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally and exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
Maintains an organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
Reviews general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting.

Educational & Work Experience Requirements |
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
Accounting audit experience in providing prepare by client schedules.
Experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains accounting package
Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize adhere to applicable timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs
Strong Excel knowledge to include the use of Pivot Tables.
Experience with Smart Builder is a plus

This position is sedentary and may require long periods of looking at a computer screen
Some lifting may be needed, although infrequently
|
FLSA and Position Type |
This position is considered full time exempt FSLA status.
Reports to the Controller.
