SOFTWARE ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision of the Director of Data & Analytics, the Software Engineer will develop, test, maintain and support high-performance, innovative applications. Responsibilities will include analyzing and troubleshooting complex software problems and providing solutions using the latest software methods and technologies. Software Engineer will also be asked to provide recommendations for application and system improvements. The Software Engineer works on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities and occasionally will provide guidance to less experienced analysts and/or programmers.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design, develop, debug, test, maintain complex business solutions.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of new features and enhancements.
• Writing standards-compliant front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Sound decision making and analytical skills.

• Testing the front-end code for supported browsers and devices.
• Write and manage unit, functional and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot software problems by determining error messages and debugging user problems, identifying and resolving application system operating problems to ensure continuous business operations.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the design solution.
• Responsible for completing tasks on a timely manner that match project requirements.
• Recommends process improvement opportunities to department Manager or Director.
• Research new technologies for information systems management and process flow improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Four years or more full-time software development.

Proficient developing middle tier applications consuming data, specifically web APIs.

Working knowledge of formal database architecture and design.

Perform software coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks in accordance with industry best practices and internal procedures and standards.

Experience with data archival strategies and reporting optimization.

Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot complex technical issues with obsessive compulsion to detail.

Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Maintain professional image and work environment.

Excellent written skills, ability to gather, analyze, and organize information.

Must be flexible and willing to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.

Strong problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED:

• 4-year degree in engineering, science, math, information systems or otherwise technical discipline.
• Strong technical and operational knowledge of MLS Systems.
• Statistical aptitude.
• Real estate industry experience.
