Job Overview:

A Vice President of Technology, you will oversee Rental Beast’s technology and software development teams, championing the high-quality and timely delivery of all technology-related projects. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be a major influence in our company and our industry.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, serving on the Company’s Executive Committee, and working closely with Rental Beast’s Director of Product Development and fellow department heads, you will proactively manage the people, process, and technological systems that safeguard the security, scalability, and reliability of our software solutions. You’ll also manage the systems and processes supporting the continual optimization and evolution of our rental database. Most importantly, you’ll lead all aspects of the ongoing, agile-based development of our extensive suite of applications and their rapidly evolving feature sets.

One of the key aspects of your role is the ability to parlay your exceptional technical knowledge to effectively manage a development team while communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Architect and deliver successful technology projects
  • Oversee the day-to-day development and support and evolution of Rental Beast’s SaaS platform and supporting systems and technology, managing the people and process under your leadership to achieve plan goals
  • Maintain the overall framework, security, scalability of the Company's platform technologies
  • Effectively lead, train, and motivate Rental Beast’s diverse and talented team of front end, back end, and full-stack developers, software engineers, quality assurance personnel, software engineers, DevOps team members, and related external vendors and resources, including off-shore development teams
  • Formulate and implement technical policies, standards, and strategies
  • Track, maintain and communicate relevant KPIs
  • Demonstrable success running a successful software engineering organization
  • Applied knowledge in full-stack development, with significant experience in product development, database development and support, and systems architecture
  • Proven success managing a development team, achieving operational goals while operating within a defined budget
  • Prior experience in PropTech or FinTech verticals is a significant plus
  • Eagerness own all things technology—motivating a highly-experienced Tech team within a tech-forward organization
  • An executive-level position with compensation and benefits commensurate with the role and the candidate’s experience
  • Numerous, diverse, interesting, and often complicated technical challenges, along with the resources necessary to effectively address them
  • A culture of collaboration and accountability, with a collective focus on achieving defined goals and targets
